Pornhub Insights has covered traffic changes during the NBA finals a few times now (see our 2017, 2016, 2015 results) and each time the Golden State Warriors have been included in the data alongside the Cleveland Cavaliers. We often find that traffic to Pornhub drops down during live sporting events, especially in the cities that are home to the playing teams.

2019 Stanley Cup Final
The 2019 Stanley Cup Final took place on June 12th, 2019 with the St-Louis Blues beating the Boston Bruins 4-1. For St-Louis it was the first Stanley Cup win in the team’s 51 year history, so it’s not surprising that Pornhub traffic plummeted as fans were busy watching the live game.
At the beginning of the game, the traffic drop was actually greater in Boston by -19% compared to -14% in St-Louis. But as the Blues racked up scores, it seems like many Boston viewers tuned out and headed back to watch Pornhub instead.
St. Louis traffic then dropped by a massive -23% in the last hour of the game as fans tuned in to see their team finally win the Stanley Cup. After the game, traffic quickly returned to normal levels in Boston, while St-Louis remained below average for a few hours as fans were busy celebrating their team’s win.
Champions League Final
The European Champions League final match took place on June 1st, 2019 with Liverpool beating Tottenham 2 to 0. Because this years match was between two United Kingdom clubs, Gizmodo asked our statisticians to take a look at how traffic across the U.K. was affected as fans dropped everything (including porn) to watch their favorite team play.

The Eurovision Song Contest is the longest-running annual international TV song competition. Beginning in 1956, the 2019 edition marked it’s 64th year. The finale took place on Saturday May 18 in Tel Aviv and ended with the victory of the Dutch singer Duncan Laurence with the song “Arcade”.
As the 26 performers sang and viewers from across Europe televoted for their favorites, we saw major changes to Pornhub’s normal traffic levels before, during and after the Eurovision finale show as often happens with hotly-anticipated televised events like the Superbowl or Sanremo festival.
