2017 Women’s March Traffic Changes

The 2017 Women’s March was a worldwide protest that took place on January 21, 2017. The protest was aimed at the newly inaugurated U.S. President, and millions of women took part in marches all over the world. Our friends at The Next Web were interested to see how this may have affected traffic to Pornhub.

As we discovered in our 2016 Year in Review, women account for over 26% of Pornhub’s worldwide visitors, so it was only natural that we would see significant changes in the number of female visitors coming to Pornhub on January 21st.

Golden Showers

Some people love gold. Golden jewelry, golden beds, golden golf clubs, golden towers,  golden hair — so why shouldn’t they enjoy “golden showers” too? Sometimes referred to as “watersports”, it’s a surprisingly popular fetish in which people either enjoy being urinated on, or urinating on their partner. Searches in the U.K. for Kim K. and Ray J.

On January 3, 2017 a new season of Celebrity Big Brother began airing in the U.K. Among this season’s contestants is Ray J., best known for his relationship with Kim Kardashian and their infamous sex tape released by Vivid. Their sex tape remains the most viewed video of all time on Pornhub with nearly 115 million views. Part 2 of the sex tape was made available exclusively on Pornhub two years ago, and currently has 53 million views.

Pornhub’s 2016 Year in Review

It may have seemed like 2016 was never going to end, but here we are at the beginning of what we’re hoping will be a happy and healthy 2017. Overall it’s been a pretty steady ride, but boy are we excited to kick off a new chapter! We’ve had a great year at Pornhub, and our Insights blog has delivered tons of awesome data over the course of 2016. South Carolina Insights

A newly proposed bill in South Carolina would require that all computers sold in the state come with special software pre-installed to block porn sites. The bill proposes that consumers who want the filter removed would have to pay $20 to the state. We figured this is a good time to look at how visitors from South Carolina enjoy their porn, and how their preferences differ from other states.

Folks from South Carolina visit Pornhub for 29 seconds longer than the U.S. average. That ranks them 7th for the longest lasting power, just behind Louisiana and Arkansas. For overall traffic to the site, South Carolina ranks 25th.

Have Yourself a Merry Little XXXmas

Christmas is just around the corner, so to get everyone into the horny holiday spirt, Pornhub’s statisticians are taking a closer look at what sexy seasonal searches are most popular this time of year. When holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter and even Valentines Day roll around, we usually find that searches related to those holidays increase drastically – and Christmas is certainly no different. Santa’s list is very naughty indeed when it comes to Pornhub’s users.
